Aukland Architecture is based in Hobart, Tasmania. We work collaboratively with selected design practices throughout Australia and internationally. Our firm was founded on the belief that design processes are necessarily inclusive, intuitive, and collaborative, and that outcomes must reflect intended functions and budgets. We maintain that architecture should be an inspirational and constructive means of reinforcing the spirit and pride of place.
Aukland Architecture does not discriminate projects by scale, size or value. Each of our clients and their projects has our full respect and commitment, no matter how large, small or complex the commission. We actively seek to work on projects that hold critical challenges that require unique and creative responses. While meeting these challenges, we hope to open opportunities for providing users with inspired spatial experiences.
Our approach to every project involves a thorough analysis of the effects that our design decisions will have on the ongoing use of a building or site. In many ways, this approach is reminiscent of a master plan, where we imagine and define areas of future opportunity and hindrance. In effect, we are always looking to maximise a project’s potential, even if this potential transcends our commissioned activities.
Although we have delivered projects in a wide range of sectors, we consider our expertise to be specifically focussed in three core areas: Residential, Urban/Civic, Educational/ Cultural. We have found that these three archetypes often overlap to enrich one another.
Aukland Architecture employs five full-time professionals, and also draws on the support of a dedicated drafting office for both 2D and 3D modelling/animation assistance. Beyond their formal architecture studies, our staff have experience in various specialist areas such as Project Management, Property Management, and Green Star Accreditation.
